about

Sax, opera and blast beat: Etienne Pelosoff once again surprises by increasing the intensity of his Black Metal Jazz. Already known for his latest single Headbang to Jazz and his EP Trve Brutal Black Jazz, nominated Top 10 Albums of the Year by the Moshville Times (UK) and acclaimed by Rockhard Magazine (France), Etienne Pelosoff delivers a new bold piece which aims at guiding the listener to the darkest corners of its spirit. “2020 and 2021 have been emotionally heavy for everybody and I wanted a song to catalyse all those frustrated and confused feelings. With so much to process, Art must venture out beyond limits so we can overcome our struggle.” Beneath My Soul is therefore a brutal and intimate odyssey which explores beyond the visible and far off the well known to reveal what is beneath our soul. "The making of the song was a reflection of the piece itself: a full internal journey, from surprise to struggle, from despair to relief." Bounded by unpredictable creativity, the recording sessions brought to life a passionate and surreal dialogue between the divine opera singer Morgane Matteuzzi (Royal College of Music) and the famous Tim Sanders on sax (Deep Purple, Nina Hagen…). By far the most personal and complex song of his repertoire, Beneath My Soul is the living proof that “in Black Metal Jazz, Art knows no limit.”

Au sommet des poussières,
Tu trouveras la flamme
Du fardeau de tes prières. »

"I asked myself: how would a collaboration between Miles Davis and Mayhem sound like ?"

Between blast beats and swing, distorted guitars and jazz chords, growl and scat, 'Trve Brutal Black Jazz' is an incongruous music challenging the boundaries of genres.
